Many people who are holidaying have an instinct urge to either pack close to nothing or to pack everything but the kitchen sink to make sure they’re prepared for every single eventuality. For the first group of people flying is the perfect way to get to their summer holidays. For the rest, which is a far larger portion of the population, worrying about excess luggage or about forgetting something crucial can be nerve wracking if you’re going to fly. For them, travelling by car can take a huge weight off their conscience.
Travelling to Norfolk for a weekend break or summer holiday can be that much less troublesome, and far more enjoyable, if you can simply pack what you think you need without needing a scale. Simply pop it in your boot, grab some goodies to tide you over while you drive to your holiday cottage. You can completely disregard the issues of queuing at the airport, having to pay extra charges for everything as the airlines try to claw every cent out of your wallet.
Try to think sympathetically of all those poor people trapped in a small plane with so many other people, no freedom at all while you open your window and enjoy the serenity of a quiet country lane. No huge engines roaring through the day or night, just the hum of your car as you take your time getting to your destination. Instead of being stuck going whichever route the airline thinks is most efficient, you can stop off from the road if you see a farm stall, or even just a lovely view. There’s no pressure to get onto the plane, chow down as fast as possible and then hurriedly disembark.
The difference in your enjoyment of your short break or summer holiday can be so much greater if you arrive at your Norfolk holiday cottage already relaxed from the journey. It is even better knowing that the trip back will be just as relaxing.
